MARGARET FERN STEWARD ESSIG

Mrs. Margaret Fern Essig, 53, died Sunday night at her home on Cambridge Shores at Lake Holiday. Prior to moving to Lake Holiday, Mrs. Essig and her husband resided in Indianapolis. Born June 17, 1912, in Morral, Ohio, she was a daughter of Walter C. and Effie Markey Steward. She was married Dec 28, 1948, in Covington, Ky., to Verlon H. Essig. They resided in Lima, Ohio, before moving to Indianapolis. Mr. Essig was employed by the Texaco Co. for 37 years before his retirement. Mrs. Essig was employed by Sears Main Store at Indianapolis for 15 years. She was a member of the Lawrence Methodist Church at Indianapolis. Survivors include the husband; her mother, Mrs. Effie Steward of Marion, Ohio; a sister. Mrs. Leo Seiter of Lubbock, Tex.; two brothers, Paul Steward of Columbus, Ohio, and Richard Steward of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepson, Verlon F. Essig; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Richard Kincaid of Indianapolis, and seven grandchildren . The body was taken to the Robert W. Sterling Funeral Home, 1420 Prospect St., Indianapolis.
